Bio

Sue’s journey into accountancy began in the 1980s when she sought a career that offered stability and opportunities for women. This path led her to become the tax manager at the Gainsborough office, where she has developed a wealth of expertise in personal tax advice, including income tax, capital gains tax (CGT), inheritance tax (IHT), and taxation of trusts and estates. Sue also handles the completion of self-assessment tax returns and construction industry monthly returns.

With many years of experience dealing with HMRC, Sue brings a deep understanding of tax regulations and a practical approach to managing clients' tax-related queries and concerns. Her ability to navigate complex tax issues is a significant asset to her clients, ensuring they receive accurate and timely advice.

Sue's role involves close collaboration with her colleagues at the Gainsborough office, pooling their collective tax and accounting knowledge to deliver high-quality services. She also maintains strong relationships with local solicitors, enabling her to provide comprehensive responses to client queries by integrating legal and tax perspectives.

Her approach to client relationships is characterised by a friendly and reassuring manner. Sue strives to explain tax issues clearly and straightforwardly, aiming to alleviate clients' worries and make complex tax matters more understandable.

Interests

Outside of work, Sue loves to travel, preferably in style, and enjoys dining out. She has a particular fondness for champagne and luxury hotels. A fun and interesting fact about Sue is that several years ago, she and her travel companions got caught up in a military coup in Thailand.
