COVID-19 Update – 13 November – Guidance for the Charity Sector - Wright Vigar
 In Advice, Blog, News

The Charity Commission has updated its response to the most commonly asked questions about what charities are to do during the coronavirus outbreak.

The Charity Commission wants to assure charities that their approach to regulation will be as flexible and pragmatic as possible in the public interest, whilst helping trustees to be aware of and think about the wider or longer impact of their decisions on their charity.

During the crisis, the Charity Commission will be prioritising registrations, permissions, reporting, and other interactions related to coronavirus.

Please refer to the Gov.uk guidance for detailed advice and practical solutions on the following:

  • Financial support for charities
  • Holding meetings
  • Using reserve and restricted funds
  • Insolvency help
  • Trading subsidiaries – financial support from parent charities
  • Managing financial difficulties
  • And much more

We would recommend Trustees and Charities check through the list – please feel free to forward on to someone you think might appreciate this useful information
